You need to know also the length that your gutters should have and the length and number of downpipes needed. In case you had old gutters which were working well, you should replace them with the exact measurements. Make sure you make a list of all the materials you need for replacing the gutters and write down the measurements that should be used. You should ensure that you install the downspout outlets such that they are close to the run although not at the very end and they should also be placed at the end of the house.
As the gutters are being installed on the fascia, you should ensure that there is an interval of twenty-four inches. You should use gutter covers to cover all the corners without downpipes and also the ones which are not at the end of the run. In order that you may get the right measurements of the gutter sections, you may cut them using a hacksaw. You should also place the cups at the ends of the gutters that are hooked on the hangers and ensure that you follow the chalk line. It is necessary for you to follow the chalk line as you place the cups at the ends of the gutters that have been hooked on the hangers. You can also use some special connectors for attaching the gutters to the ground. When installing the gutters, you will need someone to assist you especially when you are hanging the gutters.
While installing gutters, you will need drainpipes and elbow joints where the drainpipes are cut to a size that they will fit between the elbow joint and the outlet of the downspout. During the installations of the gutters, you should make sure that you get some professionals to do that to ensure that they do a good job.
